CELESTIAL SPACES is a breathtaking journey through the cosmos, the second in a trilogy of orchestral works that delve into the wonders and mysteries of the universe. Inspired by the awe-inducing Hubble Deep Field image, the piece invites the audience to immerse themselves in a world beyond our own, reflect on the vast and infinite expanse of space, and travel billions of years into the past to the origins of the Deep Field’s light sources. With its rich textures, shimmering harmonies, and soaring melodies, CELESTIAL SPACES provides a window into a realm beyond our imagination and a powerful reminder of the grandeur of the cosmos.

CELESTIAL SPACES was written for the Curtis Symphony and premiered by conductor Yoonhaek Baek in Field Concert Hall in 2006.
